To calculate the percent of people with disabilities in a certain state who receive SSDI in a particular diagnostic group out of the total number of people with disabilities who receive SSDI in the state, divide the number of people with disabilities in a certain state who receive SSDI in a particular diagnostic group by the total number of people with disabilities in the state who receive SSDI. Example: Out of the total number of people with disabilities in Arkansas who receive SSDI, calculate the percent who receive SSDI in the the diagnostic group Diseases Of The Circulatory System. This calculation would be: 10,765/92,713=.116 and .116x100=11.6%
