To calculate the percent of people with disabilities in a certain state who receive SSDI in a particular diagnostic group out of the total number of people with disabilities who receive SSDI in the state, divide the number of people with disabilities in a certain state who receive SSDI in a particular diagnostic group by the total number of people with disabilities in the state who receive SSDI. Example: Out of the total number of people with disabilities in Wisconsin who receive SSDI, calculate the percent who receive SSDI in the the diagnostic group Neoplasms. This calculation would be: 2,394/104,479=.023 and .023x100=2.3%
